Programming managers from the Prague City Hall visited Finland

During the week between 6 – 10 August, 2012 a group of 12 programming managers from the European Regional Development Fund Department of the Prague City Hall visited Finland. The main goal of the study visit was to gain experience and knowledge from connecting business environment and academic sphere in order to increase innovative potential.

During their stay in Finland managers visited several state institutions encl. the Ministry of Employment and Economy and TEKES – the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation. They learned practical experience when visiting the city of Kotka and having consultations with the Regional Government and Regional Development Company Cursor. Finland has been for a long time among the countries with the highest expenditure in research and development per capita. Finland also shows a successful model of cooperation between the academic sphere and entrepreneur subjects in developing innovations and implementing programs co-financed by EU Structural Funds.

At the end of their stay the participants of the study trip shared their impressions and experiences with the employees of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki.
