Visit of Czech Senators in Finland

During December 10 – 13, 2013 the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic visited Finland. The main target of the working visit was to learn about the Finnish education system in details as well as about the initiatives of the Finnish state for the support of innovative research projects.

The delegation of the Committee was led by the first vice-chair of the Senate Mrs. Alena Gajdůšková, the other members of the delegation were the vice-chair of the Committee Mrs. Eva Syková and Mrs. Hana Doupovcová, senators Mr. Jiří Čunek, Mr. Václav Homolka and Mr. Karel Kapoun. During the visit the delegation met representatives of Ministry of Education and Culture, Education and Culture Committee of the Finnish Parliament, Office of Finnish Parliamentary Ombudsman and TEKES – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation. During the programme the delegation also visited Comprehensive School Yhtenäiskoulu in Helsinki. One day of the programme was devoted to a visit of Tampere - the second biggest city in Finland, where the Senate delegation had talks with representatives of the city of Tampere, Adult Education Centre TAKK, BioMediTech- Centre and Tampere University.
