Presentation of Czech Days in China

Some 6,336,128 foreign tourists visited the Czech Republic last year, 4.5% more than in 2004. It was a record year for incoming tourism in the Czech Republic, the best since the Czech Statistics Bureau started monitoring the numbers of tourists staying at registered accommodation facilities. The average amount they spent went up by 3.5% in 2004 reaching 110.9 billion crowns.

The Czech Tourist Authority - CzechTourism has brought to Hong Kong its promotional project of "Czech Days in China 2006", highlighting the attractiveness of the Czech Republic as a travel destination in Europe. The Hong Kong presentation, which was organized also by Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong, took place in the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel on May 22-24, 2006. The project was a part of a roadshow being held in May and June in nine major mainland cities and Hong Kong with a goal to provide the tourism industry professionals, as well as individual visitors, with the information on business opportunities in the Czech Republic, to serve as a platform for establishing contacts with participating Czech business partners, and to offer the first-hand experience of the Czech cuisine, crafts and culture.
