Czech Documentary "Nicky’s Family“was screened at Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival 2011

Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong presented in cooperation with Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival 2011 the Czech documentary "Nicky’s Family" directed by Matěj Mináč.

Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong presented in cooperation with Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival 2011 the Czech documentary "Nicky’s Family" directed by Matěj Mináč. The documentary was screened during the 12th Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival (http://www.hkjff.org/).

The HKJFF´s motto this year was “Kindness”, which is a word that describes the act of Sir Nicolas Winton who rescued 699 Jewish children from Czechoslovakia shortly before the Second World War. The documentary Nicky’s Family was very well received at the HJFF 2011 and brought the attention of the Hong Kong public to this story. First screening of the film took place on November 20, 2001 in AMC Pacific Place, the second screening, which was followed by the discussion of the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong, Jaroslav Kantůrek, with the students was held on November 22, 2011 in the Canadian International School in Hong Kong and the last screening took place at Discovery Bay High School on Lantau on 25 November, 2011.
