Czech Team at the International Student´s Moot Court in Hong Kong

The Faculty of Law of the Masaryk University in Brno has sent for the third time its team to participate on the annual student competition - "Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot", which took place at the City University of Hong Kong from 31.3. to 6. 4. 2014.

The team from the Law Faculty of the Masaryk University (LwF MUNI) in Brno was among 99 teams from the law faculties worldwide participating on this year’s "Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot" in Hong Kong.

The Czech team consisting of coach Slavomír Halla and four students - Boris Barabáš, Klára Bažantová, František Halfar and Iveta Rohová stood against the teams from Germany, South Africa, Brasil and India during the oral hearings. They were preparing for this competition for almost a year with help of three more students - Jan Hlubuček, Martin Hostinský and Lukáš Kudláč. The Czech team did not make it to the final rounds of the competition, however, student František Halfar was awarded prestigious Honorable Mention for the Best Advocate.

Among the judges (arbitrators) of the Moot Court were also three Czech lawyers - Michal Čáp, Martin Svatoš and Tomáš Hulle.
