The Czech Republic and Hong Kong signed three bilateral agreements on mutual legal assistance

On March 4, 2013 signed the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong, Mr Jaroslav Kantůrek and the Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr Lai Tung-kwok, three bilateral agreements on reciprocal legal assistance - namely The Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, The Agreement on Surrender of Persons Wanted for Criminal Proceedings and The Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Persons.
The signing ceremony was performed in Tamar, the HKSAR Central Government Offices. Present were the representatives from the Security Bureau of HKSAR, Department of Justice of the HKSAR, Hong Kong Customs, Hong Kong Correctional Services and Hong Kong Immigration Department. From the Czech side was the ceremony attended by the employees of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic.
The three signed agreements will be now subject to ratification.
