Visit of the General Director of the National Gallery in Prague

The General Director of the National Gallery in Prague (NG Prague), Mr. Vladimír Rösel, paid a visit to Hong Kong and Macao from 19. - 22. 3. 2013. During his visit has Mr. Rösel met with the representatives of the main cultural institutions in Hong Kong and Macao and has established relations for the future cooperation of the National Gallery in Prague with these institutions.

The program of Mr. Rösel´s visit was prepared by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong has Mr. Rösel met with the Deputy Director (Culture) from the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Mrs. Cynthia Liu, and visited the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum where he has met with the curators Mr. Raymond Tang and Mr. Woon-tong Cheng.

In Macao was Mr. Rösel received by Mr. Ung Vai Meng, the president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau and has visited the Macao Museum of Art.

Mr. Rösel has introduced the NG Prague, its history, collections and planned and ongoing exhibitions during the meetings in Hong Kong and Macao. The meetings were used for establishment of the professional relations for the future cooperation of the NG Prague with the art institutions in Hong Kong and Macao with the reference to a very successful ongoing exhibition of the Czech modern art from the collections of NG Prague at National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul.
