Short Term Schengen Visa

 Short term Schengen visa is issued for tourism, business or study purposes and allows foreign aliens to remain in the territory of the Schengen area untill the day of validity of the visa.    

Visa Section of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong is open for public on

Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30 am to 12.30pm.

List of countries, whose nationals or passport holders (with an exeption of the EU family members) may apply for a visa at Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong ONLY if they are permanent residents of Hong Kong SAR or Macao SAR or if they are holding a Hong Kong or Macao ID card:

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Colombia, Comoros, Congo, The Democr. How to apply for a short term visa

All documents have to be submitted in original with one set of photocopies. Each applicant has to submit the application at the Consulate in person.

* passport (or other travel document) with blank visa pages available with a minimum validity of three months
after the intended last day of stay

* valid Hong Kong ID/Macau ID card and valid residence permit in Hong Kong SAR/Macau SAR

* one visa application form per applicant, (dully filled and signed by the applicant)

* one recent passport size photograph with a white background (4,5x3,5 cm) affixed to the application form

* photocopy of the applicant's Travel Document and permanent HK ID/Macau ID data page

* official letter from applicant´s employer stating employee´s position, purpose of the trip, guarantee of return; this letter has to be signed and stamped, the address, tel. and fax numbers should be clearly readable

* proof of financial sufficiency (such as a recent monthly bank statements (last two-three months) or fixed deposit statement, bank book )

* confirmed round trip airline ticket

* confirmation of accomodation

* travel/ medical insurance - this travel insurance is to cover at least EUR 30.000,- including repatriation to the state, whose passport is the traveller holder of (or to the state where he/she has a permanent residence), has to be valid for Europe (including the Czech Republic) and for the whole duration of the stay


If applicable, please, also submit:

* evidence of business connection(s) with Czech companies (invitation letter)

* evidence of financial sufficiency, such as company guarantee letter with Bank Endorsement

* work permit

Important notice:

* All documents should be in English or Czech; Chinese documents should have an English translation

* All documents have to be presented in original

* The Consulate may require additional information

Presentation of the above-mentioned documents does not automatically mean that visa will be granted.


Visa Fees


Visa application fee has to be paid at the time of the submission of visa application. The fee is not refundable, regardless of the outcome of the application.

 

Please, note:

Applicants under age of 15 should submit a written consent of parents and the copy of birth certificate.

Visa procedure normaly takes two weeks, but it can last up to 30 days.

Short term visa holders with the purpose of the visit of tourism are not allowed to be engaged in any revenue earning activities.
