(This article expired 13.09.2015.)

Czech Republic’s young and remarkable musician Kateřina Chroboková will give two recitals at the Salihara Festival 2014 in Jakarta on 15th and 16th September. She will perform a varied selection of her wide repertoire, ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach through the 20th century compositions by Olivier Messiaen to her own contemporary works.

Kateřina Chroboková is a harpsichord and organ player by training, playing a classical organ repertoire besides contemporary compositions. The way she combines music from different periods and styles makes her performances quite special and her particular interest in modern music has inspired composers to write for her. She uses an electronic organ of her own, capable of producing the sound of some of the world’s finest organs.

Following her success at the Oundle International Organ Festival in England, she was awarded five recitals at the international organ festivals and organ series including St. Paul's Cathedral in London. It was the start of a brilliant carrier. She has given concerts and played at festivals in the Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Mexico. As a soloist, she has cooperated with prominent Czech and international orchestras and played in contemporary music projects and festivals.

She studied at the Janacek Conservatoire in Ostrava and the Janacek Academy of Music in Brno (Czech Republic), the Utrecht School of the Arts (the Netherlands), Lemmensinstituut in Leuven (Belgium) and Schola Cantorum in Basel (Switzerland). She is currently doing her PhD at the Janáček Academy in Brno and l'Ecole Doctorale Esthétique, Sciences et Technologies des Arts in Paris.
