An international conference “NATO Strategic Concept: Response to Our Concerns?” was held in Prague on January 12, 2010. December 10, 2009 - International Human Rights Day marks one year since the publication of the Charter 08 manifesto. Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Terrorist Attacks in Baghdad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the series of deadly terrorist attacks carried out on Tuesday morning in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, which killed at least 127 and wounded 448. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is particularly concerned as these bombings coincide with the passage of the election law on Sunday 6 December and appear to have been designed to undermine the efforts of the Iraqi Government and the Iraqi people to strengthen the stability and democracy of the Republic of Iraq. We extend our deepest sympathies to the grieving families of those killed and wounded.
