Minister Kohout attended a Central European Iniciative (CEI) summit

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Kohout attended a Central European Iniciative (CEI) summit in Bucharest. On the occasion of 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic and Romania, minister Kohout awarded Romanian soldiers who contributed to a liberation of Czechoslovakia in 1945. He awarded other personalities and institutions which take an active part in a cultural and scientific cooperation of the Czech Republic and Romania too.

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Judgment of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic concerning the Treaty of Lisbon

On 3rd November 2009, the Plenum of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic decided the case under file No. Pl. ÚS 29/09 concerning the petition of a group of senators to review the conformity of the Treaty of Lisbon amending the Treaty on the European Union and the Treaty establishing the European Community (hereinafter referred to as „the Treaty of Lisbon“ or „the Treaty“) with the constitutional order of the Czech Republic. The Constitutional Court ruled that the Treaty of Lisbon is not inconsistent with the constitutional order of the Czech Republic.
