SKODA POWER wins public tender in Denmark and receives an order for the Amager power station

Czech Company ŠKODA POWER has signed a contract for the delivery of turbine generators with a performance of 80 MW as part of the overall refitting of the Amager power station in Denmark.

ŠKODA POWER, a subsidiary of ŠKODA HOLDING, has signed a contract for the delivery of turbine generators with a performance of 80 MW as part of the overall refitting of the Amager power station in Denmark. The contract is worth almost CZK 500 million. The customer is ENERGI E2, one of the largest Danish companies operating in the power sector and owners and operators of several electrical power stations, including hydroelectric and wind-powered, not only in Denmark, but in Sweden, Spain and Greece.

The managing director of ŠKODA POWER, Jan Musil, speaking of the success of ŠKODA over its competitors, put it down to the overall operation of the thermal cycle requested by the customer, a dispositional layout which best corresponds to the existing base, and the best technical economic design from the point of view of long-term operations.

The delivery involves a turbine generator with an output of 80 MW within the framework of the overall refitting of the Amager power station, situated out the outskirts of Copenhagen. At present there are three blocks in operation, of which the first two work with ŠKODA turbines delivered in 1971/72, which were gradually modernised in 1991/92. The order includes modernisation of the machine room of the 1st block, specifically the double-bodied counter-pressure turbines providing heat for Copenhagen, including a generator situated in the existing base. It also provides for comprehensive designs, turbine control systems, a heat exchanger system, electrical section, cross-ignition tubing, mountings, steel construction, and spare parts. The final deadline for the turbine to be put into operation is January.

ŠKODA POWER has thus boosted its standing in Scandinavia, and, along with other projects in Finland and Sweden, has won six projects in this territory within one year. The contracts in question confirm that in the sphere of steam turbines, ŠKODA belongs to the world leaders.
