It was the first GAERC session attended by Schwarzenberg after assuming his minister´s duty. The advisory opinion was rendered on behalf of UN General Assembly Resolution 63/3 of October 8, 2008.

The ministry strongly condemns this atrocious act of terrorism. Our thoughts are with families of the 43 persons who have lost their lives so far and with dozens of wounded.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic strongly condemns the terrorist attacks of July 15, 2010, which occurred in the Iranian city of Zahedan and which claimed a life toll of more than 20 dead and 100 wounded. Each such an act of violence is a serious crime against humanity wherever in the world it happens.

Jiří Schneider will be appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic on August 1. Jiří Schneider is Program Director of the Prague Security Studies Institute. He worked in Czech diplomacy in the past. He used to be i.a. Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Israel (1995-1998) and Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
