A meeting with prospective students at the Diplomatic Academy

On 5 March the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a prospective meeting with students and graduates. Almost fifty people interested in a career in the diplomatic service and the junior diplomatic training attended this meeting.

Meeting for the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA was led by Deputy Director,  Pavla Havrlíková. The position and role of the Diplomatic Academy of the Foreign Service of the Czech Republic was discussed, along with preparation for the junior diplomatic programme and tenders at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Young hopefuls for the Czech diplomacy were interested in practical issues concerning specific requirements for admissions, applications forms, and the schedule during the selection process. Traditionally, there have been a significant number of questions focused on language skill requirements, an essay on foreign policy issues and the general knowledge test.

The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has held meetings with prospective students since 2012, in the form of “Open Days.” Due to the high level of demand since December 2013 the Diplomatic Academy has met to with interested candidates for the fourth time. During these four meetings, a total of 230 candidates learned about the Diplomatic Academy.
