Open Doors Day
Many Czechs consider a career in the Czech Foreign Service and studying at the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be highly prestigious. The dozens of questions that the Diplomatic Academy receives by email, telephone, and during face to face meetings reflects this belief.
To answer many of the questions received, in 2012, the Diplomatic Academy started organising the Open Doors Day during which people are welcome to learn about a career in the Foreign Service. In an open and transparent way, the Diplomatic Academy shares admissions procedures, policies and requirements. During the day, the Diplomatic Academy has an opportunity to apprise potential junior diplomats by presenting the study programme of the junior training course and answer questions about the processes and procedures.
In December 2012, over 90 candidates attended the informational event.
