The Diplomatic Academy (DA) represents the standard gateway to a diplomatic career at the MFA. DA was established in 1997 and since then it has trained over 250 new diplomats. Its principal mission is to train the diplomatic staff of the MFA in skills necessary for performing their duties and tailored to the specific needs of the Czech diplomacy. DA is responsible for high quality of MFA´s diplomatic corps and preparing diplomats for their successful operation abroad.

Activities of the Academy consist of cooperation, planning, organization and evaluation of training programmes, cooperation with trainers, and facilitation of study visits. In particular, the Academy currently runs a year-long general diplomatic programme for junior diplomats as well as an advanced training programme together with other specialized courses related to the requirements of the diplomatic service, language training, IT courses and others.
