The Czech Republic is sending another part of the humanitarian aid to people affected by the hurricane Katrina.(16/9/2005)
The Czech Republic is sending another part of the humanitarian aid to people affected by the hurricane Katrina.The transport of the aid will be carried out by NATO capacities according to the following schedule:
- Thursday 15th September: departure from Ruzyně Airport at
10:30
- Thursday 15th September: departure from Ruzyně Airport at
16:30
- Friday 16th September: departure from Ruzyně Airport at
11:00
NATO cargo airplanes will transport the rest of the aid
consisting of 210 camp-beds and 24.000 blankets to the Ramstein Air
Base (Germany) and then to the USA. NATO is deploying for the first
time its NATO Response Forces, which are in charge of the transport
of the humanitarian aid.
The first part of the humanitarian aid left the Czech Republic on Sunday 11th September and included 600 camp-beds and 14 large size tents.
The costs of the provided humanitarian aid are covered by the
national budget. On 7th September 2005 Czech Government agreed to
allocate for the humanitarian aid to people affected by the
hurricane Katrina the amount of 25 Million Czech Crowns.
