Information about the Czech for Compatriots summer course in Dobruška, the one- and two-semester study courses at public universities in the Czech Republic and the Czech language teaching course.

·        Czech for Compatriots summer course in Dobruška, Czech Republic

This four-week Czech language course targets Czech compatriots over 18 who live abroad and want to learn the language of their ancestors or improve their knowledge of it. They are given the opportunity to learn about the Czech culture and get to know a part of the Czech Republic. The education takes place under the guidance of experienced teachers in groups formed according to the students’ language proficiency levels. A rich extra-curricular programme has been prepared for the course participants (discussions, lectures, weekend day trips etc.).

·        One- and two-semester study courses at public universities in the Czech Republic

These study coursesare designed for Czech compatriots living abroad. They are meant to support the compatriots in maintaining and broadening their Czech language proficiency and cultural awareness. The compatriots can enrol in programmes such as Czech Language and Literature, Czech Language and Literature Education, History, Ethnology, History of Arts or Theology. The courses are one- or two-semester courses conducted in Czech and take place most often at the Faculty of Arts of one of the public universities in the Czech Republic.

·        Czech language teaching course for teachers from the compatriot communities

 The participants of this course take part in a two-week intensive Czech language teaching education with the aim to enhance and stabilise the Czech language teaching techniques especially in such compatriot communities abroad which no teacher is being sent to. The course includes also study visits, class observations and trips.
