The Independent Social Ecological Movement (NESEHNUTÍ) has arisen in autumn 1997 in Brno, Czech Republic, with the aim to actively assist in solving problems in areas of human rights, environmental protection and animal rights with the emphasis on supporting activities of citizens guided from beneath.
Its projects focus mainly on the following problems: negative consequences of global expansion of hypermarkets at the expense of the local environment, migration, refugees in the Czech Republic, inequality of men and women, violation of animals’ rights, and trade in weapons.
In cooperation with the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs – within the Transition Promotion Program, NESEHNUTÍ focuses on the support of civic participation and independent media in Georgia. It does so through the transfer of transformational experience of Czech non-governmental organizations and media.
