28.06.2013 / 16:36
FAMU Burma project continued over the transformation year of 2012 in several directions. Three Burmese students successfully continued in their master studies at FAMU, they also secure our workshops and seminars in Yangon in September and December. They are also core organizers of Wathann film festival, a largest public output of our project, which celebrated 2nd edition in September 2012, this time under large coverage of local as well as international media. The festival focuses on local production and universal issues and creates space to debate wide range of topics. Two students or certified graduates of our programs finished shooting of their full length films - in one case on Burmese elections and in the other fictional story of Burmese countryside. The films will be finished within next period. For next period FAMU will try to stabilize up to date outputs of the project and focus for development of more stable local basis, through co-operation with the local partner university as well as developing concentrated certified curriculum.
