An important US scientist, Dr. Ranjan has recently started his six weeks mission in the Czech Republic. He will promote cooperation among leading research teams from the Czech Republic and the United States of America. In this regard he will build upon the mission of Dr. Bellaire from the National Science Foundation who visited Prague and other Czech cities a year ago.
Dr. Mukul Ranjan is a senior employee of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) specializing in fight against emerging infectious diseases. Before, he was a research scientist at the National Institute of Health (NIH). During his very productive career, he published many articles in leading science journals.
Dr. Ranjan's mission has been made possible thanks to Embassy Science Fellows Program prepared by the US Embassy in Prague. He will stay most of the time in Brno. However, he has started his visit in Prague by meeting representatives of Faculty of Natural Sciences of Charles University, Department of Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences and ELI Beamlines project (financed from the EU structural funds).

He is the NIAID’s representative for promotion of the cooperation between the public, private, academic and non-profit sectors. Dr.Ranjan is an expert in questions concerning intellectual property and patents’legislations in the U.S. (he is also a member of the US Patent Bar).
