Schengen (short-term) visa based on official invitation

Invitation to visit the Czech Republic authorized by the Alien Police is a formal document whereby the inviting person undertakes to cover all or partial costs associated with a stay of an alien in the Czech Republic. Based on the extent of the undertaking, the formal invitation replaces all or some otherwise required supporting documents. The invitation form is submitted in its original by the visa applicant. Further, the alien submits a travel document photograph and travel medical insurance and the document proving the intention of the applicant to leave Schengen area upon expiry of the visa (reservation of an air-ticket, train ticket etc.).
Aside the oficial invitation, further documents must be submitted:
- application form
- travel document
- Information, which will allow to ascertain the intention to leave the territory of the Czech Republic/Schengen area before the expiry of visa (for example: (air plane) ticket reservation, proof of financial means, employment confirmation, proof of immovable property, proof of family or work ties etc.)
- travel medical insurance
Fee for submittin the application will be charged (list of fees).
Invitation can be presented also as an official letter of inviting company. This document needs to include information about the applicant (same as in the data page of the travel document), information about the dates of intended travel to the Czech Republic and the reason of inviting the applicant to the Czech Republic. This document should be presented in original, signed by the representative of the inviting company. This document proves the purpose of stay only.
