Minister Kohout met his German and Slovak counterpats

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Kohout met his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajčák.

The aim of the meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Federal Republic of Germany and the Slovak Republic was joint commemoration of historical events from autumn 1989 and 20 years of independent development in Central and Eastern Europe. Ministers also discussed about the Presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the EU, further enlargement of the European Union including Eastern Partnership and European Neighbourhood Policy.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Kohout welcomed German Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier on 1 June 2009 at the Wenceslas Square to view the exhibition “20 Years of Freedom. Germany Says Thank You!”     

The following day, on 2 June 2009, Foreign Ministers of the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia met at the Czernin Palace. A joint press conference followed after the meeting.
