Minister Kohout met the highest representatives of Israel

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Kohout accomplishes an official visit to Israel. He met President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman and Opposition Leader in Knesset Tzipi Livni on a second day of his visit.

The visit of Minister Kohout reflects a focus of the Czech republic on Israel, the Middle East and a current situation in the region. During the meetings Minister Kohout discussed a number of issues of bilateral relations.

The meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was focused on bilateral economic cooperation and investments. Minister Kohout mentioned an invitation of Prime Minister Netanyahu to Prague.

Jan Kohout visited the Weizmann Institute of Science which cooperates with the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic in science and research projects.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic will visit the Palestinian territories on a third day of his visit, on May 6.
