Czech Republic helps in Russia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg sent a letter to Foreign Minister of Russia Sergeyi Lavrov today. In the letter minister Schwarzenberg expressed solidarity of citizens of the Czech Republic to citizens of Russia who were stricken by disastrous fires.
Minister Schwarzenberg informed minister Lavrov the Czech Republic was not able to support Russia with rescue workers and equipment. Rescue workers and equipment asked by Russia have been needed in the Czech Republic because of flood. Hence minister Schwarzenberg decided to provide financial humanitarian aid in an amount of 5 million CZK for Russia. The Czech contribution will be supplied by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Moscow to the Civic Assembly, an organization which accumulates and further distributes means to urgent help and renewal.
