Minister Schwarzenberg attended NATO Ministers of Defence and of Foreign Affairs meeting

 

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg attended NATO Ministers of Defence and of Foreign Affairs meeting in Brussels on October 14, 2010. Ministers discussed the new NATO Strategic Concept focused on collective defense and integrated approach to NATO operations.

Ministers of Defence discussed reforms of NATO Command Structure, NATO agencies and financing. Reform package is going to be presented to the head of states at the NATO Summit in Lisbon. MInisters of Foreign Affairs discussed future evolving of NATO partnerships, reletions with Russia and cooperation with the EU.

Remarks and comments of the ministers will be consult by NATO Secretary General in the updated new NATO Strategic Concept. The NATO Strategic Concept will be presented to the head of states and governments at the NATO Summit in Lisbon.
