Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomáš Dub visited the Republic of Iraq

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomáš Dub visited the Republic of Iraq on the occasion of the 6th International Fair held in Erbil on 18 – 21 October 2010.

In recent years,  Iraq has once again become an important business partner of the Czech Republic and the share of the Region of Iraqi Kurdistan in the mutual trade exchange is substantial. The first full-fledged participation of 13 Czech companies in the Erbil fair underscored the importance the Czech Republic attributes to the development of Czech-Iraqi economic relations.

Apart from his activities aimed at supporting the enhancement of trade and business relations between the two countries, Mr. Dub took advantage of his stay in the Region of Iraqi Kurdistan to meet  political representatives of the region. He was received by President Mahsood Barzani, Parliament Speaker Kamal Kirkuki, Prime Minister Barham Saleh and a number of ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Government. The visit confirmed the excellent level of relations between the Czech Republic and the Region of Iraqi Kurdistan and the existing potential for their further development.
