Minister Schwarzenberg accomplished a visit to Serbia

 

First Deputy Prime Minister and MInister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg accomplished a visit to the Republic of Serbia on October 25 - 26. Minister Schwarzenberg met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Vuk Jeremić and Prime Minister of Serbia Mirko Cvetković.

The meeting with Minister Jeremić was focused on issues of integration of Serbia to the EU. Minister Schwarzenberg arrived to Belgrade just after the General Affairs Council session in Luxembourg. GAC decided on assignment of the application of Serbia to the European Commission to evaluation (Avis). The report was acclaimed in Serbia. Minister Jeremić expressed his thanks to the Czech Republic for support for integration efforts of Serbia. Further issues of the meeting were current situation in the Western Balkan, relations with Kosovo, reciprocal support of candidatures in multilateral organizations and Serbian interest in cooperation with Visegrad Group countries. Minister Schwarzenberg greatly appreciated the meeting.

With Mirko Cvetković minister Schwarznberg discussed November visit of Prime minister of Serbia to Prague. An important issue of the meetings was economic cooperation and possible investments of Czech companies in Serbia.

Minister attended a state reception held by the Embassy of the Czech Republic at the end of his stay in Belgrade.
