Minister Karel Schwarzenberg visited Ukraine

 

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Gryshchenko on November 29, during his official visit to Ukraine.

The meeting was suceeded by the talks with Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and a President Viktor Yanukovych. In the Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) of Ukraine Minister Schwarzenberg met Chairman of the ParliamentVolodymyr Lytvyn and Chairman of the European Committee of the Parliament Borys Tarasyuk.

MInister Schwarzenberg laid flowers at the Holodomor Victims Memorial later in the day. In the evening, Minister Schwarzenberg met grantees and implementers of the International Visegrad Fund scholarships. The meeting was held at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic at the 10th anniversary of the founding of the International Visegrad Fund and the 5th anniversary of its activities in Ukraine.

During his stay in Ukraine, Minister Schwarzenberg visited Autonomous Republic of Crimea on November 30. He met First Deputy Chairman of Crimea's Council of Ministers Pavel Burlakov and representatives of Tatar minority. In Bakhchisaray Minister Schwarzenberg met People´s Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev.
