Minister Schwarzenberg met Foreign Minister of Italy

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg met Foreign Minister of Italy Franco Frattini at the Czernin Palace on February 8, 2011.
The meeting was focused on current EU and security issues. Both ministers pointed out an excellent level of Czech-Italian bilateral relations in policy, economy, culture and education. The EU issues of the financial perspective, the European Stabilization Mechanism and the European neighbourhood policy were discussed in particular. The foreign policy issues of the Western Balkans, the Mediterranean, Belarus and current course of events in egypt and Tunisia were discussed too.
Memorandum concerning consulation and cooperation metween the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and Foreign Ministry of Italy and Agreement on cultural, education and science cooperation was signed at the meeting.
