Meeting of Czech ambassadors on the Middle East

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg attends a meeting of Czech ambassadors on current situation in the Middle East at the Czernin Palace on Friday, March 11, 2011.

The meeting hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic on March 10-11, 2011 is focused on current development in the Middle East and the North Africa. It is attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomats acting in the region. The meeting is aimed on analysis of current situation, pssible future development, risks and opportunities and role of the Czech foreign policy in the region in a frame of the current events.

Changes in regional relations, new political forces, risks for Europe are among the issues discussed in the two-day meeting attended by Czech diplomats posted in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Algeria, the Palestinian territories, Israel, Marocco, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Syria.

The economic issues were discussed in a round table on March 9, 2011, attended by representatives of more than thirty Czech firms. Businessmen discussed their opinions on current situation with Czech ambassadors posted to the region.
