Minister Schwarzenberg at the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly

 

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg attended the High-level Meeting on Nuclear Safety and Security and a ceremony of depositing of the ratification document to the Convention on Cluster Munitions in the United Nations Headquarters on September 22.

In the afternoon, minister Schwarzenberg met Foreign Minister of Kenya Moses Wetangula assuring him about Czech focus on development of mutual bilateral relations despite closing of Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nairobi. Minister Schwarzenberg met Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Patricia Espinosa Cantellano and Foreign Minister of South Sudan Nhial Deng Nhial whose country became UN member state two months ago. MInister Schwarzenberg met Foreign Minister of Israel Avigdor Liberman, Foreign Minister of Cuba Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parilla and Foreign Minister of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh too. In the evening, minister Schwarzenberg attended the EU-USA meeting and the Transatlantic Dinner hosted by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Minister Schwarzenberg will attend a speech of the President of the Czech Republic at the General Debate and will accomplish further bilateral meetings. He will return back to the Czech Republic in the evening.
