Syrian patients arrived to the Czech Republic in the framework of MEDEVAC

Two Syrian patients arrived to the Czech Republic on August 29 in the framework of the MEDEVAC programme. They were chosen by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Amman and the Czech NGO People in Need for a medical treatment in the General Faculty Hospital in Prague.

Apart from the general dimension of the Syrian crisis, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic closely monitors all its aspects and tries to help the Syrian people affected by the current situation in the country. The Czech Republic has already sent a financial help of 7,5 million Czech crowns set for people in Syria as well as the Syrian refugees in the neighbouring countries. With regard to the on-going Syrian conflict there is currently running a competitive grant management related to projects of an immediate help organized by Czech NGOs and their local partners.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic currently cooperates with ministries of Interior and Health on the Programme of disabled people´s humanitarian evacuation (MEDEVAC) of Syrian citizens, which will be developed by bringing more patients, Syrian refugees in Jordan, Turkey or Lebanon, who will also undergo the medical treatment.
