(This article expired 20.11.2014.)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic selected Ms Petra Jacinová to become an International Research Fellow at the McCain Institute for International Leadership in Washington DC. The main purpose of the fellowship, beginning in October 2013 and lasting through September 2014, is to explore and research issues critical to human rights, freedoms and democracy in various regions of the world.

The fellowship at the McCain Institute was possible through a grant from the Prague Freedom Foundation. The Prague Freedom Foundation is a nonpartisan, non-profit initiative with a mission to protect and promote freedom through education and journalism by supporting free speech and independent journalism in the United States, the Czech Republic and other parts of the world.

The Research Fellow will be placed for a period of one year to the McCain Institute for International Leadership, a center for research and action in national security and foreign policy. It seeks to promote leadership and decision-making, in the best American tradition of open inquiry, spirited discussion and practical action. Through its policy research, events, fellows programs, and other activities, the Institute aims to inform, convene, train and assist current and future leaders from the United States and abroad.
