Press statement of the MFA for foreign tourists

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic informs foreign tourists intending to visit the Czech Republic in the nearest future that in the majority of regions of the country, including the capital of Prague and popular tourist centres, the providing of services to tourists has returned back to normal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that tourists arriving in the Czech Republic are not exposed to any risk whatsoever.(4/9/2002)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic informs foreign tourists intending to visit the Czech Republic in the nearest future that in the majority of regions of the country, including the capital of Prague and popular tourist centres, the providing of services to tourists has returned back to normal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that tourists arriving in the Czech Republic are not exposed to any risk whatsoever.

Hotels, accommodation and spa facilities, the whole infrastructure and services in the majority of regions have remained completely untouched by the floods and are working normally. Fully passable is also the majority of arteries and communications (air, railway and road). Most of the tourist centres in the Czech Republic are open to all visitors and offering usual comfort.

The regions affected by floods are gradually returning to normal and works continue to ensure full functioning of tourist facilities. Hygienic conditions, and food and fuel supplies are ensured. Tourists travelling to areas hit by floods are recommended to contact their respective travel company operators to inform them on possible moderations in programmes or changes in accommodation.

For tourists arriving in the country on an individual basis, information on transport services all over the country is available on telephone number 1230 or 00420-1230 when calling from abroad.

The whole Czech Republic at the same time thanks most cordially all governments, legal entities, foundations and natural persons for the aid and assistance provided to the country in connection with the floods. Every visit to a historical site of our country represents at this moment aid and support to the country in its restoration.
