The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic
closely follows the situation in Lebanon. In accordance with the
Lebanese people and international community will, the MFA demands a
complete withdrawal of all foreign military troops and secret
services from the country. The fulfilment of the UN
Security Council Resolution n.1559 and a regular organisation of
coming elections are necessary conditions to achieve real
independence and sovereignty of Lebanon. The MFA of the CR does not
consider the transfer of troops to the Bikká valley and the Syrian
border, announced by Syria, a sufficient measure.
The MFA believes, that the process of political stabilisation
in Lebanon will continue in political and diplomatic negotiations
and that all parties involved will avoid any violent provocation,
which could affect efforts of the Lebanese people to achieve peace
and freedom.
