The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic appreciates that the elections to the Palestinian Legislative Council have seen a high number of participating voters, were undisturbed and in accordance with democratic standards.

The Czech Republic respects the expression of free will of the Palestinian people and expects that the new Government will honour all its engagements, will refuse all forms of violance and terror, will recognize the right of Israel to existence and will manifest its will to continue the peace process according to the Road Map.
