The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic expresses its disappointment over the fact that the Austrian side did not take measures in order to ensure a continuous traffic on the border checkpoint Dolní Dvořiště-Wullowitz, according to its engagements in the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Austrian Federal Government on Border Checkpoints on Common State Borders.
The prevention of free passage of the border checkpoint
caused concrete difficulties to Czech citizens in free crossing of
the border. It did not benefit to the further development of the
security dialogue between both countries. It is crucial for this
dialogue to take place in an atmosphere of mutual confidence. The
MFA considers the repeated blockade of the border to be a
non-constructive step, which is not in conformity with the achieved
level of relations between Austria and the Czech Republic.
