The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is concerned about the current internal political situation in Georgia, which resulted in the proclamation of martial law in the whole country.
The MFA considers different opinions on governmental policy as part of a normal democratic development, the discussion on the future orientation of the country however should take place within the framework of law and political dialogue.
In this spirit we call on involved parties for a constructive
dialogue, leading to a decrease of tension and preservation of the
democratic process. A key part of this process is the adherence to
fundamental human rights including the right for assembly and the
freedom of the press.
