The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic expresses its deep concern over the decision of the Moscow court that sentenced three members of the art group Pussy Riot Maria Alyekhina, Yekaterina Samutsevich and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova to two years of imprisonment.
The Ministry is surprised by the fact that an offense resulting in no damage to health or property has been punished so severely. As for the sentence, the Ministry points out not only to the length of the sentence, but also to the fact that the above-mentioned artists were kept in custody for more than five months.
