Statement of the MFA on the situation in Korean Peninsula

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic has considered the current situation in the Korean Peninsula in the light of new information received from the Embassies of the Czech Republic in Pyongyang and Seoul on 8 April 2013. It was decided that the Czech Embassy in Pyongyang will remain operational and, together with the Czech Embassy in Seoul, will closely monitor the developments and assess them in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and in coordination with the other EU Member States and partners.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic stresses that the Czech Republic would like to see the situation in the Korean Peninsula calm down and stabilize.
