Karel Schwarzenberg highly appreciated ongoing smooth transfer of power matching the highest international democratic standards and distinguished statesman’s approach of President Saakashvili to the post-election situation.

Minister Schwarzenberg added that Georgia is the only country in the region, where the government was changed through democratic elections without manipulations and we must congratulate them for this achievement.

Minister Vashadze highly appreciated continued support of the Czech Republic to the Euro-Atlantic orientation of Georgia and thanked the Minister Karel Schwarzenberg for his personal involvement. Minister Vashadze asked the Czech Republic to continue to support Georgia and keep on developing friendly relations with the new Georgian government.
