Minister, while talking with Yoani Sánchez about the recent developments in Cuba, showed a great interest in the situation of Cuban civil society. Furthermore he asked about the impact of recently adopted reforms on the people of Cuba. Yoani Sánchez assessed the reforms as rather symbolic, without any major impact within the political sphere. Minister replied that he had never shared the optimism of some countries in this respect, since he had not yet been able yet to forget so called reforms adopted during the period of communism, which had changed basically nothing but seemed magnificent to the West.     

Yoani Sánchez arrived to the Czech Republic by invitation of the organization People in Need. She left Cuba after she was finally given the passport as a consequence of the migration reform.
