Minister Schwarzenberg met Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea

On 28 May 2013, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg met Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Mr. Park Byeong-seug.
Minister Schwarzenberg and Vice-Speaker Byeong-seug described Czech-Korean bilateral relations as excellent, emphasized the importance of parliamentary visits and positively evaluated dynamic development of bilateral trade and economic relations. Minister Schwarzenberg welcomed investment activities of Korean companies in the Czech Republic.
Both sides expressed their support for expansion of advanced cooperation e.g. in science and technology and on third markets. They also confirmed their intention to organize the second meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea in Prague in autumn 2013. With satisfaction they also noted intensive relations between Czech and Korean universities and supported further deepening of cultural cooperation, incl. the field of art. Minister Schwarzenberg mentioned recent opening of the Czech Center in Seoul and expressed hope for early opening of Korean Cultural Center in the Czech Republic. Both sides envisaged good perspective for further development in tourism between the two countries, which already bring good results.
Mr Byeong-seug appreciated the Czech position with regard to the security situation on the Korean peninsula. Both sides exchanged their views on current development on the Korean peninsula and its perspective.
