Statement on illegal parliamentary elections in Abkhazia / Georgia and illegal presidential elections in South Ossetia / Georgia

This upcoming weekend “elections” will be held in separatist regions of Georgia - illegal parliamentary elections will take place in Abkhazia on March 24, 2012 and illegal presidential elections will be held in South Ossetia on March 25, 2012.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic underlines in this context that the Czech Republic firmly supports the territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders and does not recognize constitutional and legal framework within which these “elections” will take place.
