MFA Statement on North Korean nuclear test on 12 February 2013

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic strongly condemns the nuclear test that the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea (DPRK) reported on 12 February 2013. It is a clear violation of international obligations in particular under UN Security Council Resolutions 1718, 1874 and 2087.

The nuclear test has been a highly irresponsible and regrettable act, which seriously threatens stability and peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic urges the DPRK to immediately comply with all its international obligations and implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
