The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic welcomes bilateral talks between the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jingping in Sochi as confirmation of interest on both sides in further deepening of mutual relations. This year, when we will jointly commemorate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, serves as an exceptional opportunity to strengthen our sound cooperation based on mutual respect and benefit, and equal treatment.

Multifaceted dialogue, including meetings of representatives of both countries at the highest levels, is an opportunity for exploring and successfully deepening cooperation between the Czech Republic and the People’s Republic of China in various areas. Regular visits at the working level, trade cooperation, cultural exchanges and direct contacts between people of both countries clearly demonstrate the vast scope and untapped potential for further development of our relations. Traditional friendship and long-term contacts between the Czech Republic and the People’s Republic of China represent a reliable basis to build upon.
