Integrated primary health care static clinic as a humanitarian aid project, educating Burmese kids as a development assistance programme will be delivered from the CZ to Malaysia through the Taiwan Tzu-chi Foundation Malaysia to ease the situation of the Burmese refuges in this country. For humanitarian reasons the Czech Republic will continue granting asylum to dozens of Burmese refugees in MY.

To educate kids in Riwo village is the purpose of the project. The school will also become a centre for further education of local teachers in the area. This is the second education project of the CZ in PNG. The first school was build in Nagada village near Madang.

Award giving ceremony to the Malaysian Winners of 37th International Children Art Competition Lidice 2009 took place at the National Art Gallery of Malaysia Tuesday, December 1. Ceremony was organized by the Czech Embassy and the National Art Gallery. Nine Malaysian sudents have been awarded by Honorary Mention. Mohamed Sobri Izuan of Shah Alam won the main award the Rose of Lidice. Congratulations to the winners.

Opening ceremony of a new school for Burmese children took place in Setapak on Saturday 7th November. The Czech Embassy with the UNHCR and others was among the donors of the school, which will provide elementary education for more than 30 Burmese refugee kids. The UNHCR, the Malaysia Mizo Community, the Aliance of Chin Refugees, Catholic Churches, Czech Embassy representatives attended the opening ceremony.
