Visa Application - Long-term Visa

This type of visa allows for a stay longer than 3 months during the time period for which the visa was issued (maximum 1 year). Visa for the purpose of study, employment or entrepreneurial activities, visa to receive a residency permit and family reunification visa fall into this category.

LONG-TERM VISA (over 3 months)

This type of visa allows for a stay longer than 3 months during the time period for which the visa was issued (maximum 1 year). Visa for the purpose of study, employment or entrepreneurial activities, visa to receive a residency permit and family reunification visa fall into this category (SEE BELOW).

Visa can be only received at the Embassy where it has been requested. For appointment, please call the Visa Office at +965-252-9015.

LONG-TERM VISA - GENERAL

Requirements:
All the supporting documentation (i.e. proof of funds and accommodation, vouchers issued by a travel agency, health insurance, and others) must be presented in originals, signed and stamped by the issuing person/authority, and translated into Czech language.

  • Completed application form
  • Passport or other travel document, which must be valid for additional 90 days after the intended departure from the Czech Republic
  • Three identical passport photographs - one photograph should be pasted to the indicated place on the front page of the application; the other two should be freely attached, with your name written on the back. The photographs must correspond to your current appearance.
  • Document substantiating purpose of stay
  • Proof of funds and accommodation arrangements - a proof of funds sufficient to cover the costs of the stay must be presented. Minimum amount required is 46.900 Czech crowns (about 670 KWD, subject to the exchange rate) for the first month and 6,300 Czech crowns (about 90 KWD, subject to exchange rate), for each additional month. Persons 18 years old or younger present a half of the given amounts.
  • Criminal records extract - You can apply for the Czech Police criminal records extract at the Embassy while applying for the visa. Persons 15 years old or younger are exempt from this requirement. Criminal records extract from the police of the country of residence may be required as well.
  • Travel health insurance - Persons traveling to the Czech Republic are required to have a health insurance providing the coverage of at least 30,000 EUR for emergency treatment and/or medical evacuation in case of sudden illness or injury. You will be asked to present a written proof that you hold an insurance providing the above-specified coverage. The written proof may only be accepted in original and in Czech or English language. Document in Arabic only cannot be accepted. You may present this proof at the time of your application or before collecting your visa.

LONG-TERM STUDENT VISA

Requirements:

  • Completed application form
  • Passport or other travel document - valid for additional 90 days after the intended departure from the Czech Republic
  • Three identical passport photographs - One photograph should be pasted to the indicated place on the front page of the application; the others should be freely attached, with your name written on the back. The photographs must be identical and must correspond to your current appearance.
  • Letter of acceptance - original or legalized copy of the letter of acceptance in Czech language from an academic institution
  • Proof of funds and accommodation arrangements - Confirmation that the prospective student has sufficient funds to cover study-related and personal expenses must be presented. This will be typically a pledge by an academic institution to provide accommodation and to cover the student's expenses, confirmation of a grant or a scholarship, proof of personal funds, or rental agreement. The confirmation must be submitted in Czech language, or in the original language with a translation.
  • Criminal records extract - You can apply for the Czech Police criminal records extract at the Embassy while applying for the visa. Persons 15 years old or younger are exempt from this requirement. Criminal records extract from the police of the country of residence may be required as well.
  • Travel health insurance - Persons traveling to the Czech Republic are required to have a travel health insurance providing the coverage of at least 30,000 EUR for emergency treatment and/or evacuation in case of sudden illness or injury. You will be asked to present a written proof that you hold an insurance providing the above-specified coverage. The written proof may only be accepted in original and in Czech or English language. Document in Arabic only cannot be accepted. You may present this proof at the time of your application or before collecting your visa.

The processing time for the long-term student visa is up to 60 days.

LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT OR ENTREPRENEURIAL VISA

Requirements:

  • Completed application form
  • Passport or other travel document - valid for additional 90 days after the intended departure from the Czech Republic
  • Three identical passport photographs - One photograph should be pasted to the indicated place on the front page of the application; the others should be freely attached, with your name written on the back. The photographs must be identical and must correspond to your current appearance
  • Employment/entrepreneurship permit - Employment visa application must be supported by a work permit issued by the Employment Bureau of the Czech Republic, or at least by a serial number, under which the application has been filed. Certain professions are exempt from this requirement. Entrepreneurship permits must be obtained for specified business activities. As applicable, confirmation of a partnership in a company or other documents substantiating the reason of your stay may be required.
  • Proof of funds and accommodation arrangements - A proof of funds sufficient to cover the costs of the stay must be presented. If the purpose of stay is employment, employment contract may be presented instead of proof of funds. If the purpose of stay is entrepreneurship, the minimum amount required is 156,300 Czech crowns (about 2233 KWD, subject to exchange rate).
  • Criminal records extract - You can apply for the Czech Police criminal records extract at the Embassy while applying for the visa. Criminal records extract from the police of the country of residence may be required as well.
  • Travel health insurance - Persons traveling to the Czech Republic are required to have a travel health insurance providing the coverage of at least 30,000 EUR for emergency treatment and/or evacuation in case of sudden illness or injury. You will be asked to present a written proof that you hold an insurance providing the above-specified coverage. The written proof may only be accepted in original and in Czech or English language. Document in Arabic only cannot be accepted. You may present this proof at the time of your application or before collecting your visa.

The processing time for the employment/entrepreneurial long-term visa is up to 120 days.

RESIDENCY PERMIT


Persons with ties to the Czech Republic, such as former citizens or persons whose close family members reside in the Czech Republic are eligible to apply for a residency permit. Upon the affirmative decision, the applicant is granted a visa enabling him/her to collect the residency permit in the Czech Republic. The permit must be collected within three days upon the arrival in the Czech Republic.


Requirements:

  • Completed application form
  • Passport or other travel document
  • Three identical passport photographs - One photograph should be pasted to the indicated place on the front page of the application; the others should be freely attached, with your name written on the back. The photographs must be identical and must correspond to your current appearance.
  • Written evidence substantiating the purpose of stay - This could be, among others, a marriage certificate, birth certificate, proof of former citizenship, proof of Czech origin or evidence that a close family member resides in the Czech Republic.
    Proof of funds - This could be, among others, bank statement, letter from an employer, employment contract, confirmation of the transfer of funds to the Czech Republic or confirmation by the Czech Ministry of the Interior on repatriation.
  • Proof of accommodation arrangements - usually a property ownership title, lease agreement, or letter from a family member.
  • Criminal records extract - You can apply for the Czech Police criminal records extract at the Embassy while applying for the visa. Persons 15 years old or younger are exempt from this requirement. Criminal records extract from the police of the country of residence and from the police of the country where you resided for more than six months in the last three years will be required as well.
  • Travel health insurance - Persons traveling to the Czech Republic are required to have a travel health insurance providing the coverage of at least 30,000 EUR for emergency treatment and/or evacuation in case of sudden illness or injury. You will be asked to present a written proof that you hold an insurance providing the above-specified coverage. The written proof may only be accepted in original and in Czech or English language. Document in Arabic only cannot be accepted. You may present this proof at the time of your application or before collecting your visa.

RESIDENCY PERMIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF REUNIFICATION OF FAMILY OF FOREIGN NATIONALS


Following persons are eligible to apply:

  • spouse of a foreign national residing in the Czech Republic
  • child of a foreign national residing in the Czech Republic
  • child of a spouse of a foreign national residing in the Czech Republic
  • adopted child or child in the custody of a foreign national residing in the Czech Republic
  • parent or an officially appointed guardian of a child who has been granted political asylum
  • foreign national over 65 years of age or a foreign national of any age who requires care for health or other special reasons by a close family member residing in the Czech Republic

For the purpose of this regulation, a child is a son or a daughter under 18 years of age or, in specific cases, a son or a daughter over 18 years of age without independent means of support - due to preparation for future profession or due to health reasons.

  • Proof of financial standing
  • Proof of accommodation arrangements - usually a property ownership title, lease agreement, or letter from a family member
  • Criminal records extract - You can apply for the Czech Police criminal records extract at the Embassy while applying for the visa. Persons 15 years old or younger are exempt from this requirement. Criminal records extract from the police of the country of residence may be required as well.
  • Travel health insurance - Persons intending to live in the Czech Republic are required to acquire a health insurance policy prior to their journey or to declare in writing that they will do so within three days after their arrival to the Czech Republic. All persons traveling to the Czech Republic are required to have a health insurance providing the coverage of at least 30,000 EUR for emergency treatment and/or evacuation in case of sudden illness or injury. You will be asked to present a written proof that you hold an insurance providing the above-specified coverage. The written proof may only be accepted in original and in Czech or English language. Document in Arabic only cannot be accepted. You may present this proof at the time of your application or before collecting your visa.
