On 19 January 2010 Ambassador Michael Žantovský laid flowers to a memorial of Jan Palach on Velehrad, 22 Ladbroke Square. On the day of 41th anniversary of Palach´s death he commemorated the student´s act to outcry over occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw pact armies in 1969.

On 11 November 2009 a memorial to Czech and Slovak soldiers, who trained as SOE agents in 1941-43, was unveiled in Arisaig, Scotland. It is to commemorate the trainees, many of which were parachuted behind the enemy lines, or took part in the invasion and other war actions, all sustaining heavy casualties.

In March we remember 330 years of death and in July 400 years of birth of this immensely prolific and even today a very much recognized engraver and draughtsman.

Among other events, the highlights of Revisitng Hollar - 400 Years include a Celebration of Václav Hollar at St Margaret´s Church (Westminister Abbey) and a special exhibition of Hollar´s works at the British Museum.
