WWII veteran Colonel František Kaplan passed away

Colonel František Kaplan, a World War II Free Czechoslovak Army veteran who served in the 1st Independent Tank Brigade during the siege of Dunkerque in 1944, died on 25 December 2013 aged 92. Czech Republic Defence Minister as well as the Czech Ambassador to the UK sent their condolences to his wife Hillary. The last farewell to Colonel František Kaplan took place in Nottingham on 8 January 2014.
